Jill Levetsky - Round Two

For our second interview Jill picked up her brush again and returned to painting. Since its took me until the second week to make it to her site we were just going to do both interviews in one swoop.

How has this experience been so far? Its been a surprising experience. Very different from what I had expected. Working indoors as opposed to out. I've enjoyed working with the different personalities. It was exciting to learn how expansive Mural Arts' criminal and educational programs are.

What was the most interesting thing that has happened?
I had attended a community meeting on 52nd street for the Market Street corridor mural. I enjoyed listening o the process of how murals began and the exchanges between the young and old.

What is your favorite form of transportation? I like riding my bike, especially in traffic, I never get to do that in Florida.

What is your favorite Philadelphia Landmark? I went to the Woodland Cemetery a few nights ago. It was really nice.

Favorite place to eat? It's called the Queen of Sheba in West Philadelphia. Its Ethiopian food which has a lot of dipping bread in sauces and eating with your hands.

What is your favorite part of a mural that you have done? I love the giant saw I painted for the Tacony bridge project.
