My next site today was the Eagle's Partnership Project at Potter Thomas elementary school at 6th St. and Indiana St. I took two buses to get from the Norris Street Site to the school. Visible from blocks away, bright colors splashed in the form of beautiful murals. I sat down to talk with the artist about the program, and there is so much to tell about it, that I've decided to make an entire post dedicated to the project. There were three interns from the program at that site, all working on painting bright portraits of artists and political leaders. Frida Kahlo was next to Michelle Obama, who's husband took up more than 100 sq feet of wall across the room. The Eagles Partnership had intstalled a brand new playground in the yard as well as benches that were in the process of being covered in mosaics. I settled down to talk to each of the interns, starting with Joseph, as the radio blared 90's music in the background.
